History

Originally established in 1965, E. J. Chance was a small heat treating and chemical service company. In 1985, William Ball purchased E. J. Chance and Associates. Later that year, Mr. Ball added the trade name Industrial Instrumentation Services (IIS) and incorporated the business. In the late 1980's, the advent of the microprocessor revolutionized all process industries. The inception of the microprocessor marked a change in the core business of IIS. As the new technologies evolved so did IIS. IIS began to drift away from the heat treating industry and migrate towards the newer process control industries. These new process control industries included the pharmaceutical, bio-technology, semiconductor, water systems/treatment, power and packaging industries. Today, the pharmaceutical industry represents over 70% of our current service customer base.
